My meds arrived on Saturday morning. I ordered them the previous day and was shocked that it was going to be $5,000. And that was after my clinic had donated a box of Follistim. I called the clinic and asked if there was any cheaper alternative, and the nurse kindly donated another box of Follistim. It still ended up being $3,800. I was nearly in tears as I gave the pharmacy my credit card number over the phone, and I think the lady felt bad for me so she gave me free overnight shipping.
Anyways, I thought I had my emotions under control when it came to meds, but when I opened the HUGE box on Saturday, I promptly burst into tears. I was overwhelmed by the thought of putting all this in my body.

Here’s all the meds lined up…

The Follistim in the fridge. At $900 a box, I hope our electricity doesn’t go out in the next few days!

The needles and syringes: The scariest part for me

I put everything back in the box (minus the refrigerated Follistim) and shoved it in the closet. I’m hoping that our med teaching session tomorrow at the clinic will take away some of the anxiety and overwhelm.
Thoughts on meds? I’d love to hear your experiences, advice, etc. Please share in the comments below. Thanks!
