On Wednesday we transferred a single embryo. Everything went fine and we were in and out of the RE’s office in under an hour.
The day started off pretty early and pretty hectic. We got very little sleep due to the extreme heat our area is experiencing (we have no air conditioning since it normally doesn’t get above 70 here!). Then our cat woke us up in the middle of the night, shaking his head and scratching at his ear. I ended up having to take him to the vet in the morning (he’s fine, by the way), but I was rushing from the vet to the acupuncture session I scheduled.
My regular acupuncturist wasn’t available before the transfer, so I saw another lady who specializes in acupuncture for fertility. It was a lot more expensive, but it was wonderful. She did electric acupuncture, which was surprisingly relaxing and not at all uncomfortable.
After, acupuncture, it was back home to wash the sheets in the guest room. Yes, we had overnight guests the day after the transfer!
Anyways, by the time we got to the RE, I was ready to just lay down for awhile! Everything went very smoothly and we were in-and-out of the RE’s office in under an hour.
Here’s a picture of our embryo. The nurse told us “he” is smiling! You can see a small bubble protruding from the embryo, and the RE said that means it’s hatching, which is a great sign!
I took a long valium-induced nap after the transfer, spent the rest of the night in a pretty dopey state!
We have our first beta this Wednesday and then our second beta on Friday morning. My RE holds the results until the second beta, so we won’t know until then. I probably will wait a few days before letting you all know the results, so thanks for your understanding there!
