Infertility is characterized by bad news. It’s bad news when we find out we have infertility issues. It’s bad news when treatments fail. It’s bad news when you lose a pregnancy. It’s bad news when you find out how much it all costs. So much bad news!
The longer I walk down this road, the harder it becomes to not be paralyzed by fear of more bad news. But the Psalms tell me that the key to not having fear is to trust steadfastly in the Lord.
Now, I know that is easier said than done- especially if it feels like He’s withholding good things from us. But the Bible reminds us that God gives us many reasons to trust Him. After all, He is…
- holy (Psalm 77:13)
- full of wisdom (Isaiah 28:29)
- the embodiment of Love (1 John 4:8)
- merciful (Luke 1:50-54)
- just (Psalm 99:4)
- righteous (Psalm 89:14)
When we meditate on these attributes of God, it makes it a little easier to trust Him. If we steadfastly focus on what we know to be true about Him, we will develop a supernatural ability to trust that what He has in store for us is good. This week, take some time to look up the verses listed above and focus on your reasons to trust Him.
Now on to the monthly round-up…
May 2014 turned out to be the blog’s busiest month yet. I’ve really enjoyed the conversations I’ve had with several readers, and I’m so blessed by all the encouraging comments I’ve received.

Thank you for these inspiring resources!!! I am going to read ALL of them when I am on my 3 days of bed rest! Much love.
Thanks, Megan! I hope the bed rest goes quickly!
What an amazing verse! yes LORD we do not fear!
I LOVE this verse and it is one that I keep on my desk. It reminds me that I won’t fear bad news but if it comes, I will continue to trust in the Lord that He WILL make all things right. Praying for you girl and I can confidently say that He will fulfill the desires of you heart. He created us to be fruitful and He doesn’t change. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. I am praying for whatever sickness that is in your body to be removed and I thank Him in advance for you healing. Love ya! xo
God seems to be leading me to all the right blog posts these days. We tried for 14 months to get pregnant (not nearly the struggle some people have, I know, but still emotionally taxing), and then I miscarried the baby two weeks ago. It’s been a painful couple of weeks, but keeping my focus on the Lord has been helpful. Thank you for the reminder.
Janelle, I’m so so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I pray you feel God’s comfort and that he continues to send you reminders of his love. Hugs.

Hi Lisa, I’m your neighbor at Recommendation Saturday. I have to say, though our circumstances are different, I can relate to your thoughts about fear. It’s a battle that I’ve been waging for a long time. I will indeed look up those verses you mentioned – and I will ponder the attributes of our God. And yes, that’s the secret – trust. Even when life is in turmoil, even though we can’t see our way clearly – He is still there, always there, ever near.
GOD BLESS!
Thanks for stopping by, Sharon!
I have a tendency to panic, so that verse is key for me to keep calm.
Thanks for your encouragement to think on God’s attributes. So good.
