Today is Day 11 of my 2nd fresh cycle and things are in full swing.
My visit to the RE on Monday revealed 20 follicles and a lining of 7.8mm. Some of the follicles are smaller in size so they probably won’t all make it to maturity, but I’m happy to have such a large number to start with.
But the thing I’m the happiest about is that for the first time EVER (out of all my IUI and IVF cycle), I don’t need Estrace!! Those little blue pills are the worst and I’m so glad I don’t need them this cycle.
I’m feeling pretty bloated and fatigued, and my stomach is very tender. I’ve got some nasty bruises again- as you can see below. I’ve only had two nighttime hot flashes this cycle, which is an improvement over almost every night last cycle.
I went to the dentist this week, and the hygienist asked me if I was on any new medication since my last visit. When I told her about the IVF, she immediately said, “Oh, I have a friend who did that. It didn’t work so they gave up. Then she got pregnant!”
Sigh. I hate those stories and I love those stories.
Then the dentist came in and said, “Oh, my sister went through IVF! It didn’t work so they adopted three boys.” I was waiting for the part about how she got pregnant after, but that never came. So, I hated that story and loved that story, too.
So, that’s where we are. Egg retrieval will likely be on Saturday or Sunday. I’ll be sure to post an update after it happens.

Thanks, Amanda!
It amazes me just how many people out there are struggling with infertility. I just didn’t have any idea until being in this position myself and talking to others about it.
Saying prayers for you and for a successful retrieval! HUGS
Me too, Amie. I had no clue. Thanks for the prayers!
I am so thankful to God that you don’t have to take those pills! Praises to God. And your poor belly! I remember when my belly and arms were all bruised up…I always joked that I was glad it was winter and hoodie weather at the time. Praying for you gorgeous! You WILL be a happy mother of children because the Lord has promised it in Psalm 113:9. That’s the only story you need to love 🙂 xo
Amen to no pills!!
I am so excited for you!!!
Thanks, Megan!

I will give you a good one my best friend did IVF and it worked the second time and she did it again and had a second baby on the second try too! Life throws us challenges and different things to different people its just what we do with it all that paves the path for our futures. Big hugs. No matter what stay positive. Thank you, Judith!
Your name will be on my lips as I pray for His will. I know this is an ordeal and pray for your physical strength AND spiritual strength. My 30 yr old daughter is having trouble conceiving also. I am so sorry those stories are heartache darts but many times people should not compare their info. As you struggle down this road know that sister’s in Christ are there along the way to prayerfully encourage you on. By posting you are outreaching others going through similiar circumstances. HE has a plan. HIS way is best. He knows the end from the beginning! Praying that His perfect will is for you to be fertile. 🙂 JO
