Well, I’m PUPO (Pregnant Until Proven Otherwise). We ended up doing a 3-day transfer yesterday morning and transferred three embryos. We put in one Grade-1 and two Grade-2. Our RE said that for my age, out of the pregnancies that occur, he usually has about a 36% twin rate and 12% triplet rate for transferring three.
At the beginning of all this, twins terrified me. They’re slightly less scary now, but now triplets are terrifying. But at this point, a triplet pregnancy is a risk we’re willing to take. If it happens, we’ll consider it a blessing. Of course, our main goal is ONE healthy baby and we felt that transferring three was the best possible way to hopefully make that happen.
As we tried to leave after the transfer, we realized we’d locked our keys in our car, in the ignition. Luckily, my mother-in-law works close to the RE’s office. We only had to wait at the RE’s for about 15 minutes. Well, later in the afternoon I was getting ready to go to my acupuncture appointment. (Hubby had gone back to work). I locked the door from the inside, walked outside, and yep… you guessed it– I didn’t have my keys. Mother-in-law to the rescue again! Luckily she laughed about it instead of getting mad.
Our first beta is in about two weeks. Just like before, we’ll probably keep the results to ourselves for a little while. I’ll post the outcome when we’re ready. In the meantime, I’ll continue to post interviews and other thoughts.
Thanks so much for all the thoughts and prayers! And P.S.- If you haven’t yet voted for RESOLVE’s Hope Award for Best Blog, I’d be honored if you voted for me. You can do it here!

PUPO! Believing! Hope you get some good rest while waiting for your beta!
Thanks, Caroline! I’m definitely taking it easy.
This is so exciting its exactly what we did with our bfp cycle I am so happy for you and will keep you guys in my thoughts!!!!
Thanks, Karissa!
Yay, Lisa! I’ve been waiting for your news!!! I’ve grilled my RE with questions about the # of embryos to transfer…a little scared about it , too! I think for me, their goal is to transfer 3 also. I feel the same as you…it’s scary that there is the possibility for multiples, but we will do what it takes!
I will be praying and eagerly awaiting your news. If my timing is correct, it should be right around the time for my transfer. Praying so hard this is it for you, girl!!! xo
Thanks, Katie! Yes, I think the hardest part of this is the transfer decision. Thanks so much for the prayers!
How exciting! I so hope you’re not “proven otherwise.” I appreciate the way you’re so open about your journey here; I know you must encourage many women.
Thanks for sharing this at Grace at Home. I’m going to be featuring you next week!
Thanks, Richella. I hope I encourage other women. I know all the readers and comments and other bloggers definitely encourage me!
Sending happy “sticking” thoughts!
Thank you, Becky!
So exciting!!! Happy PUPO days!! Am praying that this will be it for you! Many virtual hugs your way.xx
Thanks, Haisla! Hugs to you, too!
PUPO is a good place to be! I, too, was terrified of twins and triplets, but I finally had to say it is in God’s hands and we will receive whatever is right for us at the time He decides. The two week wait is so difficult, but remember to take care of yourself. Are you on mandatory bed rest? Personally, I feel that we need to move around a little to get some blood flowing to the uterus. No marathons, but certainly some walking. I am putting you in my prayer jar:)
Thanks for putting me in the prayer jar, Luna! I’m not on bed rest– just supposed to take it easy. The RE said don’t do laundry, chores, etc. Fine with me!
I am so very excited for you! Praying for your BFP!
Thanks, Megan! Praying for your BFP, too!
Just found your blog today and love it. Everything sounds so familiar to me (we just had our forth IVF a month ago).
I´m having my fingers crossed for you!
With love,
Emilia from Finland
Thanks, Emilia. So sorry to hear you’re going through IVF, too. Fingers crossed for you, too!
Thanks.
It´s interesting to read how different things are in the States and in Finland. Our doctors only transfer one or two embryos at a time, usually just one. It was shocking to learn how expensive treatments are for you. Here first 3 rounds of IVF are almost free if you go to a public hospital, although you might have to wait a year or more to get there.
Best of luck to your PUPO days!
Emilia
Thanks, Emilia! That’s really interesting to hear how it works in Finland.
Good luck and hoping to hear about a BFP soon!
Love your blog and all the guest posts!
Thanks so much, Jennifer!
So exciting! Keeping fingers crossed for you!!!
Thinking about you during the Time that Tries One’s Patience. 🙂 <3
Thanks, Megan!
