I used to be really ignorant about infertility.
I’m betting most of you would say the same thing about yourself. The truth is that most people who haven’t personally experienced infertility are generally ignorant about it.
Infertility is such a private, intimate issue, and it can be extremely difficult to talk about it and share your experiences with others.
But how can we increase infertility awareness if we don’t talk about it?
I think the answer is to take baby-steps (no pun intended). There are so many small actions we can do over time to contribute to infertility awareness.
Here are some ideas on how we can raise awareness while maintaining some level of privacy.
- Leave a public comment on a blog
- Start your own blog (even an anonymous one)
- Send out just one infertility awareness-related tweet or Facebook status update
- Participate in a fundraiser
- Tell just one friend or family member about your infertility struggles
- Volunteer for RESOLVE
