My grandmother opening the “birthday box” for me on my 4th birthday
I don’t usually publish on Sundays, but today is my 34th birthday! And I want you to give me a present!
Sort of.
Yesterday was the last day of National Infertility Awareness Week, and Advocacy Day is coming up. So I’m hoping that in honor of my 34th birthday, I can get at least 34 of you to take a few minutes to write a letter to your elected officials asking them co-sponsor the The Women Veterans and Families Health Services Act, S 469 (helps provide fertility treatments to members of the Armed Services and their spouses who has a fertility condition that was received or aggravated during active duty), re-introduce The Family Act (provides a tax credit for out-of-pocket fertility expenses), and re-introduce The Adoption Tax Credit Refundability Act.
Writing a letter is super-easy. (Easier than going to Target and buying me gift cards…). Here’s how you can do it in just a few minutes:
- Find out who represents you in Congress and the Senate.
- Add their contact info to this letter template. You can fill in your own personal story where it’s highlighted in yellow, or just delete that part.
- Email the letter back to me at amateurnester {at} gmail {dot} com. I will send it to Candace Wohl, who’s helping to organize Advocacy Day. She will print the letter out and make sure it gets hand-delivered to the appropriate officials in-person in Washington, D.C. on May 14th.
So if you want to give me a gift for my birthday, please take the time to write and email me a letter!! Happy birthday to me and thanks for the gift!
