Q. Is the group free?
A. Yes, the group itself is free. You’re welcome to participate without buying the book, but you’ll be able to participate more fully if you do have a copy of the book.
Q. Where do I buy the book?
A. You can buy a print version or a Kindle version on Amazon. Or you can buy a PDF printable version here.
Q. I don’t use Facebook. Can I still participate?
A. You do need to have an active Facebook account in order to participate. Facebook provides me with the best way to manage groups and control privacy settings, while allowing me to keep it free-of-charge.
Q. Is the group private?
A. The group will be a “Closed Group.” That means that only other members can see that you are in the group or what you post in the group.
Q. I did this group once before. Can I do it again?
A. You are more than welcome to join the group again. Just be aware that the majority of the discussion questions will probably be the same as before. However, the participants will be different, I’m adding more video this time, and the giveaways are new, so hopefully it will feel like a new and completely different experience for you!
Q. Will you add me as your friend?
A. To participate in the group, I only need to add you as a member to the group. You and I do not have to become “friends” on Facebook. While I wish I could personally connect with each and every one of you, I have made the decision to only add as “friends” people who I know offline. This is due to privacy and safety reasons. Thanks so much for understanding this!
Q. What happens after the 31 days are over?
A. I will close the group to new members after the 31 days are over, but I will leave the group up and running for an additional month. That way members can catch up if they’ve fallen behind, and still post comments. After the additional month is over, I will archive the group. You will still be able to see previous posts, but will no longer be able to add new comments.
Q. How will the group work?
A. You’ll need to click on the join link to get added to the group. (This group is now closed. Please click here to sign up to receive an email notification when the next group opens). Please answer the membership questions there. It may take me up to 24 hours to approve your join request. Once I approve it, you should receive a notification from Facebook that you’ve been added.
Before the group starts, I’ll post a few questions that will allow group members to get to know each other a little bit. Once we reach the official start date, I’ll start posting daily discussion questions that go along with the theme of each day’s reading. Group members will respond in the comments. You’ll receive a notification from Facebook when someone responds to a question you’ve also posted or responded to. (If you don’t want to receive notifications, you can change that in the group’s notification settings).
Q. How many people do you expect to be in the group?
A. Honestly, I have no idea! The last time I hosted a group (March 2019), we had 224 women!
Q. Can I invite a friend to join, too?
A. Absolutely! Feel free to spread the word on social media about the group and use the hashtag #31DaysOfPrayerDuringInfertility.
Q. My husband wants to do the study with me. Can he join the group, too?
A. Due to the sensitive nature of infertility, the group will be women-only. However, I highly encourage you to go through the study materials with your husband at home. Many women have done this in previous groups, and I know their husbands were blessed by it.
Q. My husband and I share our Facebook account. Can I still join?
A. If you use your husband’s account, or you share one that uses both of your names, please send me an email at amateurnester@gmail.com. That way I will know not to deny your registration if I see a male name.
Q. I already have one child, but am experiencing infertility while trying to conceive another child. Can I still join?
A. Absolutely! Secondary infertility is infertility, too! Depending on number of women who join, I may create separate groups for women trying to conceive their first child and for women who already have a child. I can’t promise that, but if it’s possible, that’s what we’ll do.
Q. How do I sign up?
A. Click here to receive an email notification when the next group opens for registration (probably Spring 2020).
