What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us. -Romans 8:31-34 (NLT)
There are times in our infertility journey when it may feel like God is against us. We feel like He isn’t answering or hearing our prayers. We feel like He is withholding His blessings and the desires of our hearts.
But those feelings are lies that the enemy feeds us. Satan wants us to believe that God is not on our side.
Thankfully, Romans 8:31-34 clearly states that God is indeed on our side. He is for us. And if He is for us, no one can be against us (verse 31).
Remember our Scripture from yesterday: “…God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God…” He may not be answering our prayers on our timetable or in the way we would like, but it is for our good. He may be in the process of re-shaping our desires to match His will for us, but it is for our good.
God is for us.
Yesterday we saw that the Holy Spirit prays for us. Have you ever thought about what Jesus is doing now that He’s in heaven? Verse 34 tells us: He’s pleading for us. Some translations use the word interceding or praying. How wonderful is that! Both the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ plead to God on our behalf. We have a dual intercession happening for us!
When you’re struggling to believe that God loves you and wants good things for you, remember how both His Spirit and His Son are pleading, praying, and interceding for you.
God is for you. No one can be against you.
